ADHD Care at Our Office
Our office does treat ADHD for patients age 6 and up. Children under 6 will need a behavior consult with our office first and will need to call the ADHD Scheduling Coordinator to get that scheduled 770-995-0823 x9000.
Please submit the materials listed in the ADHD packet for your child’s pediatrician to review. Since our doctors cannot provide quality care until they review the information, we will not schedule a consultation visit until we receive and review all requested information. After your child’s pediatrician has reviewed the materials, we will contact you to set up a consultation with the doctor. If your child has not had a recent well child check-up, we will likely ask you to schedule two separate appointments: one for a checkup and one for a consultation.
ESTABLISHED PATIENTS DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT PROCESS
To receive ADHD treatment through our practice, a child must first have a formal diagnosis. List of recommended providers is in the ADHD Packet.
Steps to Get Started
-
ADHD Evaluation
First complete complete the entire ADHD Packet. -
Vanderbilt Forms
As part of the evaluation process, both a parent and a teacher must complete Vanderbilt Assessment Forms (insluded in the packet) and submitt it to our ADHD Coordinator. These forms help gather information about symptoms across different settings. -
Diagnosis
Once the packet has been completed and returned to our ADHD coordinator, we will schedule your child an ADHD consult with our provider.
Please note that ADHD medications cannot be prescribed without a confirmed diagnosis and completed forms.
NEW PATIENTS TO OUR PRACTICE - NO DIAGNOSIS YET
New patients must establish care with our office before beginning the ADHD process.
This requires scheduling and completing a well-child check (annual physical) with one of our providers. Establishing care allows us to review your child’s medical history, ensure up-to-date preventive care, and determine the most appropriate next steps. If your child has already had a recent well visit at another office you will need to contact the coordinator to discuss options for establishing care for your child. 770-995-0823 x9000
ADHD evaluations, referrals, and treatment discussions cannot begin until care has been established.
NEW PATIENTS WITH AN EXISTING ADHD DIAGNOSIS
New patients who have already been diagnosed with ADHD and are currently receiving medication must submit prior medical records before scheduling an appointment.
The records must clearly include:
-
The ADHD diagnosis
-
Current and past treatment plan, including medications and dosages

ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is a neurobiological condition that is characterized by inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity. Children with ADHD have these symptoms so severely that it interferes with their progress at home, school and in extra-curricular settings. Many parents have concerns or questions about ADHD.
