Gwinnett Pediatrics is the oldest established pediatric practice in Gwinnett County. Dr. Hal Herd founded Gwinnett Pediatrics as a solo practitioner in a small office on Old Peachtree Street in downtown Duluth, Georgia in July 1974. He was the first pediatrician to have a full-time practice in Gwinnett County. In 1975 he moved his office adjacent to the Joan Glancy Hospital in Duluth and in that hospital, he developed an intermediate care level nursery and a pediatric inpatient service. In 1980 and thereafter, new pediatricians were added with regularity as the practice grew.
