Dr. Hal Herd founded Gwinnett Pediatrics as a solo practitioner in a small office on Old Peachtree Street in downtown Duluth, Georgia in July 1974 (See picture below). He was the first pediatrician to have a full time practice in Gwinnett County.  In 1975 he moved his office adjacent to the Joan Glancy Hospital in Duluth and in that hospital he developed an intermediate care level nursery and a pediatric inpatient service.  In 1980  and thereafter, new pediatricians were added with regularity as the practice grew.  Dr. Scott Darby joined our practice August 2016.(Dr. Scott Darby)

Currently there are 15 Board Certified pediatricians and 3 nurse practitioners delivering medical care in  four pediatric offices (Duluth, Lawrenceville, Sugar Hilland Hamilton Mill) and one adolescent-only office in Lawrenceville  All offices function with one integrated phone system and one integrated computer network maintaining electronic medical records (since 1997).  In January 2009 our Hamilton Mill office moved and expanded to meet the growing needs of the community. March 2013 Our Sugar Hill office opened to serve the northern portion of Gwinnett County, and December 2014 our Duluth office moved to a bright new location at the GMC Duluth complex. Our Lawrenceville office will move June 24, 2016.
