At the Teen Center we try and balance the desire of the teen to move to a more mature location for his/her health care needs with the desire of the parents to remain with a provider they trust... Gwinnett Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine.
Our Teen Center has it's own waiting area, exam rooms with "teen size" tables, and a decor that appeals to our teen and young adult patients. We share the the same office entrance as our pediatric side in Lawrenceville.
The Teen Center specializes in "Well" Teen Annual Check-ups, Sports Physicals, Adolescent Development, Adolescent Immunizations, Acne, and other Adolescent concerns. We see patients up to age 20. In addition all of our female providers have an interest in helping our female teens with common adolescent gynecology issues such as irregular periods, STD testing, and birth control if needed. Teenagers may feel too embarrassed or worry about how their parents will react if they need advice about their health or personal life. We are here to give trusted advice while maintaining their privacy. You can learn more about teenage confidentiality when it comes to their medical care here and here. Parents have access to their kid's medical records until the child is 18. You can learn more about medical records when it comes to teenagers here. Feel free to browse through the topics in the related links section which include common concerns teenagers have like acne, body image, GYN issues, etc. These websites are also great resources for boys and girls.
