We are pleased to announce that GPAM has a new registered dietitian. Mrs. Barbara, aka "Babs" Richardson, will take over from our current dietitian, Lauren Holder, who is transitioning back to Children's Health Care of Atlanta. Babs will take over all of Lauren's patients beginning in August. Babs brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in nutrition and health, and we are confident that our patients will be in good hands with her.

Babs earned her master's degree in health science from Georgia State University.  Her work experience covers a large variety of clinical conditions at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.  Barbara has also done group and individual work with eating disorders at Walden Behavioral Care, previously Atlanta Center for Eating Disorders.

In her spare time, Barbara enjoys spending time with her spouse, three children, and her pets (two dogs, a cat, and backyard chickens). She also enjoys tending to her houseplants and listening to vinyl records.

FAQ
Who can see the nutritionist?
Any of our established patients are welcome to see our nutritionist. She is covered by all insurances except state insurance (Peachstate/Medicaid).

What days is she working?
She is working only on Thursdays in our Lawrenceville location.

Does she do telehealth visits?
After the initial in-person visit, she may conduct telehealth visits if appropriate. The first time you meet with her has to be in person.

Do I need a referral from my child's PCP to see her?
Our providers usually refer you if they see the need. However, you do not need a referral to see her. You may contact our office and one of our schedulers will be able to assist you in scheduling nutritional counseling for your child.
